A collection of inspirations, short stories, verse, and what I call Hoosier Wit and Ruminations. I began writing them many years ago in my youth. It was for my grandchildren, and someday their grandchildren, that I began to compile and then publish them. I recognized the relationship between the conscious mind, the subconscious mind, the mind of God, and the symbolism of water. My search for a title led me to write the poem Mystic Waters. I had already used mystic waters in The Legend of the Wabash. I consider my spiritual insights to be the origin and source of my thoughts and writings.

Mystic Waters Floyd Simeon Root Books Reviews
I had to give this a five star rating; Root's work goes far beyond the joy of simply reading for entertainment. This is not a book one reads then places on the shelf to collect dust . . . it's one you will read repeatedly. Root captures the heart and mind; as I read I not only saw the stories unfold I felt I was part of the story. A terrific author and true poet.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The poetry isn't as contemporary as some of the more mainstream stuff out there, but its "country" wholesomeness is both entertaining and refreshing. A quick search on the web leads me to believe this is Root's first literary work. I am impressed. It will have you pining for simpler days when horses pulled plows and the biggest danger to young boys was getting into a bee's nest. If you're looking to tap into a new poet or a new genre of poetry, give "Mystic Waters" a chance. You will not be disappointed.

I am thrilled beyond belief with this book and could hardly put it down when I began (and I am not a reader). I am very fortunate to be able to tell everyone that I first met this wonderful and inspiring author when he was but 5 years old. We have not been in touch for about the past 63 years until now and to rekindle our friendship just recently is one of the highlights of my entire life! I recommend reading this delightful book to everyone, the young an the old.
